December 22 – Cirque de Soleil Quidam
Young Zoé is bored; her parents, distant and apathetic, ignore her. Her life has lost all meaning. Seeking to fill the void of her existence, she slides into an imaginary world—the world of Quidam — where she meets characters who encourage her to free her soul.
Quidam: a nameless passer-by, a solitary figure lingering on a street corner, a person rushing past and swallowed by the crowd. It could be anyone, anybody. Someone coming or going at the heart of our anonymous society. A member of the crowd, one of the silent majority. The one who cries out, sings and dreams within us all. This is the “quidam” whom this show allows to speak. Join us for classes at the hotel with our resident manager and chef, Gabriel and you can not only learn to make the foods you love, but also relax afterwards for a great dinner on our rooftop patio. Classes are 2 hours long with dinner afterwards.

“The Terminal” is the story of Viktor Navorski (Hanks), a traveler who’s stranded at John F. Kennedy International Airport after a coup topples the leadership of his homeland, the fictional Krakozhia. The new rulers aren’t recognized by the United States, so Viktor finds himself stuck between a rock and a hard place, unable to enter the U.S. and unable to fly home because his passport is no longer valid. He’s told ‘America is closed’ and is forced to wait out the war in the international terminal, passing the time learning English, hanging out with a few sympathetic airport workers, falling for a stewardess, and trying to avoid causing further problems for the airport’s homeland security official.

Based on Ángeles Mastretta’s novel of the same name, Arráncame la Vida is set during Mexico’s post-revolutionary period of the 1930s and ’40s. The story begins with the beautiful Catalina Guzmán (Ana Claudia Talancón) marrying at an early age the much older, charismatic and cunning general, Andrés Ascencio (Daniel Giménez Cacho). Dazzled by his world, Catalina escorts Andrés on his political campaigns, witnessing the fascinating political system as she pursues social justice. She soon discovers, however, that by dedicating her life to Andrés, she has lost her freedom.
